Abstract This paper reports on a multi-method, multi-discipline, five year research project that aims to develop and test a standardised, digital reporting taxonomy that will reduce future reporting burden for Australian firms and enable aggregation of social and environmental sustainability data at an inter-organisational level. By doing so, Government, regulatory bodies and businesses will be better positioned to make decisions that consider critical issues affecting both nation and communities such as climate change and environmental degradation hence driving more sustainable approaches to business enterprise.
