Abstract A new design of interlocking brick has been developed. The dynamic performance of the assembly plate made of new brick under impact loading has been investigated experimentally and numerically. The results show significant improvement in terms of structural integrity, impact energy absorption capacity and crack distribution compared to monolithic plates.
