Abstract This research investigated how project team decision making can be improved by applying Divergent Thinking before Convergent Thinking occurs. The Project Mind-Shift Model that was developed offers an opportunity for project team members to engage in constructive conversations about project outcomes and the way forward. The research output helps to improve team dynamics, motivation and engagement by involving the team and utilising their intellect.
