Abstract Due to the rapid development of electronic equipment technology and its fast growing markets, many parties such as governments, customers, envrionmentalists and academics have put their attention to the threat of the electronics wastes on the enviornment. Nevertheless, the situation results in opportunities for the manufacturers to retrieve the remaining values for their financial profits. It will be more realisitc to include the deterioration of the return value than constant value over time. In this article, a tool to assess the profitability of reverse logistics operations with deteriorated parts is proposed. The nature of complexity and feedbacks in the system under study has led to the utilization of System Dynamics based modeling. Computer simulation experiments are performed to examine some important factors with differne tlevels under a medium return volume by using a case study from secondary data.
