Abstract Recently mobile phone industry in China obtained unprecedented development. The number of mobile phone users has an annual two-digit percentage increase for several consecutive years. How long will this momentum keep going and what is the future of mobile phone market like? We used System Dynamics (SD) modeling and simulation to explore the market dynamics and understand the evolution of mobile phone market. We used historical data to validate the model, simulated the behaviors, speeds, stages, and compositions of the evolution of the Chinese mobile phone market, and provided some useful information to the existing business participants and new entrants in this market.
