Abstract The photon is the fastest and simplest form of energy and so it is not surprising that microwave ovens have become a ubiquitous global domestic technology. As all things flow from good science and technology, the are increasingly used in research and industry. The applications of microwaves in chemistry is a versatile green-opportunity technology for providing a faster and cleaner way for making molecules.
