Abstract Kim Beazley has said, 'We don't have compulsory voting in Australia. The people who go out and put this claptrap argument up, that it's an evil thing to oblige people to vote, well of course it is and nobody does'. Well, nobody other than the Parliament, the Electoral Act, the Australian Electoral Commission, the courts and ultimately the criminal justice system.
