Abstract MapaAnalyst is a new software for the analysis of the planimetric accuracy of old maps. It can generate distortion grids, displacement vectors, and iso lines of constant scale and rotation. scale and the rotation of old maps, as well as statistical indicator describing the overall geometric accuracy. The software has a user friendly interface and is available for free for all major operating to use MapAnalyst, and they may consult and improve the open source Java code.
