Abstract/Summary This report presents the results of the first phase of the project: "Improvements to NAATI testing. Development of conceptual overview of a new model for NAATI standards, testing and assessment". The project, commissioned by the National Accreditation Authority for Translators and Interpreters (NAATI), consisted of three stages: 1. Review of the literature and consultations with the different stakeholders through focus groups, interviews and questionnaires; 2. The work of five specialist working groups on issues relating to prerequisites to testing, specialisations, testing, assessment and technology and 3. The development of a new conceptual model.
