Summary In this chapter, the principles of 'new learning' are revisited and drawn together. The value of reflective practice is emphasised, affirming its place in new learning classrooms. A new learning scenario is described which explores pedagogies of co-construction. A fictional teacher considers how she might develop the role of critical thinking in the classroom, and how the classroom might function more richly as a community of practice. This teacher's position as teaching professional is examined and connected to her consolidating role as teacher-as- researcher.
