Summary This chapter explores how digital communications and social media technologies are facilitating new forms of sexual violence and harassment. It discusses the nature of technology-facilitated sexual violence (TFSV), drawing on examples from across Australia and New Zealand, as well as internationally. The chapter also discusses future directions for both legal and non-legal strategies for addressing the harms of TFSV. Ultimately, the authors suggest that while criminal law plays an important role in responding to TFSV, transformative social and cultural change is necessary to promote not only women's equal digital citizenship, but also to tackle the gender inequality that underpins gender-based violence more broadly.
