Abstract/Summary The Classifying Australian PhD Theses by Research Fields, Courses and Disciplines project involves the provision of a database of PhD thesis records for the period 1987 to 2006, coded by RFCD fields of study, and a report on the trends concerning PhD theses in fields of study over the period. Further, this report includes recommendations for future actions concerning institutions reporting Higher Degree Research (HDR) completions with RFCD codes, the use of analyses for HDR load planning and disciplinary sustainability and development.
