Abstract Domestic violence occurs at alarming rates in the Australian community in spite of the conservative and Labor federal governments pursuing the prevention or reduction of domestic violence to create an Australian culture, which is free from violence. It is the leading contributor to death, disability and illness in Victorian women aged 15 to 44 years.
