Abstract This paper explores how individuals have reimagined their worlds through digital storytelling, which encourages the sharing of knowledge and ephemera, such as photographs and artefacts about old places. We present early findings from digital storytelling workshops we facilitated with Boonerwrung participants in Melbourne to co-creatively "map" sites of cultural and historical significance to the Boonerwrung community through locative technologies. We hope that the community will be able to share their digital stories and the connections they have with specific sites to broader audiences through a digital walking trail phone app. The app will allow the public (tourists, locals, students) to listen to and watch the digital stories as they physically walk the trail. This paper represents a working exploration of how co-creation played out in our project, and discusses the considerations through which the process was informed.
