Jackson, M and Shelly, M 2008, 'Sub-Prime lending, the deficiencies and the government responses', Journal of International Banking Law and Regulation, vol. 10, pp. 523-537.
This paper describes the US sub-prime market and the problems with it that arose inthe middle of 2007. It briefly examines the reasons suggested for both the rise and fall of sub-prime lending. It also examines the impact of the sub -prime loan crisis in Australia. It explores the solutions that are being introduced in both countries to remedy some of the deficiencies that have been identified and discusses whether the government responses will address the primary causes for the credit crisis that began in 2007.
