Abstract In this paper, recent published techniques for vibration energy harvesting with piezoelectric materials have been summarized. The various techniques described are classified in terms of linear and nonlinear vibration energy harvesters, harvesting electrical circuits, large scale vibration energy harvesting concept. The focus is on linear vibration energy harvester but with multiple resonant mode models. The paper concluded with an overview of vibration energy harvesting techniques that aim to maximize the extracted power and the fUture utilization of the vibration energy harvester.
