Abstract Data of all working conditions can be obtained by only test data of a few working conditions by using uniform design method and regression equations. This method can simplify the wind tunnel test of heliostat and improve the test efficiency. On the same time, the wind load coefficients variation law of heliostat is obtained. In this study, the range of azimuth angles are between 0° to 180° and the range of elevation angles are between 0° to 90°, total of 130 working conditions are formed. Firstly, 13 different working conditions have been selected according to the uniform design method, and 13 different wind load coefficient values are obtained by the wind tunnel test. The binary nonlinear regression equations have been determined by using the Fall back method and the wind load coefficients variation law, the rationality and accuracy of the regression equations are determined by evaluating the indicators. Wind load coefficient regression values are calculated by regression equations. The accuracy of the uniform design method can be comprehensively determined by comparing statistical error indicators between test and regression values. Finally, wind load coefficients variation law under typical working conditions are obtained by studying all results, and the overall wind load coefficients variation law of heliostat under all working conditions are analyzed. The regression equations of uniform design method are reasonable with high regression results accuracy. This means the uniform design method can be used to minimize the required test conditions and the test efficiency can be improved without reducing the data accuracy. The wind load coefficients variation law also be a reference for engineering design and scientific research.
